UPDATED - Child Struck By Vehicle in Kiryas Yoel
Kiryas Yoel - 6:30PM: On Forest Road, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and is in serious condition, KJ EMS, and Hatzolah are on scene. KJFD is requesting a Medevac chopper for an airlift.
Update - 6:45PM: KJFD is waiting for a chopper at the State Police barracks, FD is closing down Forest Road. The child that was struck's name is Idleis.
Update - 7:25PM: The chopper has just left the heliport, the road should be reopened in a few minutes, but don't come into Kiryas Yoel with the State Police Road because its backed up. If your heading to leave Kiryas Yoel, take the NY 17 at exit 30 because the other side is closed due to the landing zone.
Update - 7:30PM: The chopper is off the ground, and is enroute to Westchester County Hospital, as per inital reports the small boy has major trauma but was conscious and alert.
