New Reports on R' Chaim Yakov Safrin
Argentina: YIDVID has done research into the death of R' Chaim Yakov Safrin (who was found dead in his Argentina hotel room - see story below) and has found that there are many versions of the story of how he died (see earlier YIDVID reports below), the most likely one of the stories is that he was killed. R' Chaim Yakov had alot of debts, that was known.
Nobody that knows him seems to know the real reason why he was in Argentina to begin with, which is why a lot of people are saying that some shady business must have been involved, even Mafia involvement.
YIDVID has gotten reports that the paperwork from the Argentina government stated that foul play was involved.
It seems that an "aneurysm" is the family's version of what happened.
Another version of the story was a car accident.
According to YIDVID's earlier reports (see below) he was found only after two days, which means he was dead before Shabbos.
One thing is for certain, his family was notified on Shabbos by the NYPD to contact the Argentinian Embassy immediately.

STORY AS UPDATED IN THE PAST FEW WEEKS:
Argentina: YIDVID has contacted an Asken that was involved in the Tahara of R' Chaim Yakov Safrin who was found dead in his Argentina hotel room (see the complete story below). After reading the YIDVID story this was his response:
"I know personally who identified the body [and] there was no decomposition [and] no mutilation to the body. The body was complete.
There was no cover-up and nothing scandalous. There was a holiday in Argentina and that caused the delay. The body was found within 1 hour of his death and [was] immediately placed in the morgue freezer until it was released to the Chevra Kadisha’s freezer [on] Monday night.
The reason for sitting at the Beis din, is standard procedure for a Yid who dies B’medinas Hayam (over seas). [The] Beis din sat for 10 minutes and issued her [his wife] the Heter Nesuin after a very clear and unquestioned identification testimony. The body was complete. DO NOT BE ME’ARRER ON THE P’SAK DIN.
Please stop sensationalizing this grim story as the family is still in morning, and has to deal with these false stories."

Boro Park, New York: The Levaya for R' Chayim Yakov Safrin A"H, who was found dead in his Argentina hotel room (as reported on YIDVID earlier - See Story Below), is taking place at 12:00PM at Shomrei Hadas in Boro Park. This morning there was a Hetar Agunah in the Karlsburg Beis Din for his wife. The body was mutilated in Argentina, either by authorities or because it was decomposed. R' Safrin leaves over 4 children and a wife. Baruch Dayan Emes.
American Askanim say it is very hard dealing with the Argentina authorities. Argentina authorities have released the official reason for his death is "an anurisim". The Argentina government is not known for giving accurate information, as they like to cover up alot of things. It is still, and probably will be for a while, unless a private investigator is hired, unknown what the cause of death is, as his body was left in the room for more than two days. R' Chaim could have very well been murdered and killed. The Argentina authorities officialy had the death "investigated" and according to Argentina authorities he had "an anurisim", don't forget, it can always be a cover-up, there are alot of stories like this.

Argentina: Baruch Dayan Emes, R' Chaim Yakov Safrin, who was 25, A"H was niftar. R' Chaim was from Lakewood, he was suddenly Niftar in Argentina, in his Hotel, he leaves over 4 children. He was found with an anurisim. He was found dead and after their family was worried because there had been no contact for more than two days, and they sent people to find him. He lived in the Sterling Forest section of Lakewood. Askunim in Argentina are working to release the body without an autopsy and have it buried in New York.
According to a cousin of the Safrin family, speaking to YIDVID "His wife is Baruch Hashem alive and well in Brooklyn. She was not with him".
