Lakewood Yeshiva Forced to Shut Lights Due to Recession

Lakewood, New Jersey: Lakewood's Yeshiva, Beis Medresh Govoah has also been affected by the recent economic situation. BMG Yeshiva, the biggest Yeshiva in North America, has been cutting costs to save money, as many of their major donors have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions, due to the current financial situation, and just are not able to give the badly needed funds to BMG. Some of the cuts include, no lights in the hallways and no more electric bulletins, all notes that need to be posted are handwritten, to save money on the electric bill. The coffee in the coffee room, has been downgraded to a cheaper brand, which as a Yungerman in the Yeshiva puts it "does not help the learning much". Yungerleit in Yeshiva were asked not to eat the Yeshiva's breakfast in the mornings anymore. At least ten workers for BMG have been fired, and all office staff, that were on a steady paycheck, have had salary cuts. Now, more than ever your funds are needed.
