Fire in Kiryas Joel Yeshiva

Kiryas Joel - 11:30AM: Hatzolah and the Fire Department are responding to a 2 alarm structure fire at the Yeshiva on 9 Berditchev Drive. Kiryas Joel Fire Department is on scene, requesting mutual aid from Monroe Fire Department and Blooming Grove Fire Department.

Update - 11:55AM: The fire is in the Mesivta dining room, it is completely in flames.

Update - 12:10PM: The building has been evacuated at this time.

Update - 12:40PM: Units are ventilating the building.

Update - 12:50PM: Police have requested an officer assist. KJ Public Safety and police require immediate back up from surrounding Police Departments for crowd control.

Update - 1:00PM: The building is totally lost. The drop cealing is burnt. All windows and sky lights smashed. Fire is under control at this time.

Update - 4:00PM: It has been determined that the fire started from a not properly disposed of cigarette.
