

Iowa: U.S. Judge Jon Scoles has ruled that Sholom Rubashkin will remain in federal custody after prosecutors argued he's a flight risk. The judge issued the order a day after a hearing was held. He was arrested last week on new charges. Sholom Rubashkin, who ran the plant for decades, was arrested Friday on a federal bank-fraud charge (As reported on YIDVID) and had been released on $1 million bond . The charge alleged that he moved company money around in a way that allowed Agriprocessors to draw down more than it was entitled to from a $35 million line of credit from First Bank. Federal agents say that during a search of Rubashkin's bedroom, they found about $20,000 in cash and silver coins packed with passports in a travel bag. Causing the judges to say that he is afraid Shalom will Flee. A trial hasn't been set on the new charges.
